Event Description The Engaged Scholarship Symposium (formally called Embracing Community) showcases community engaged research, scholarship, and creative works to facilitate networking and recognize excellence in an interactive symposium. Following the tradition of UNC Research Day, this event supports the work of cutting-edge UNC scholars and includes poster presentations from faculty, students, community organizations, UNC departments, class projects, and student clubs involved in engaged work.
The poster session is from 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. in the Ballrooms. The 2nd Annual Engaged Scholarship Awards will be presented during the event at 2:30 p.m. in the Ballrooms.
As a special edition this year, a faculty workshop will be offered from 11 AM - 1 PM by University of Georgia Professor Dr. Lorilee Sandmann, who has been a leader in the scholarship of engagement movement for more than fifteen years. Faculty must register through CETL http://www.unco.edu/cetl.
