UNC International Film Series: "Earth Made of Glass" and Q&A with Director Deborah Scranton

Event Description:
Winner of a 2012 Peabody Award, director Deborah Scranton's "Earth Made of glass speaks to the masses about the repugnant genocide that took place in Rwanda in 1994 and the journey a man pursues to discover the truth about his father’s murder.

Following the screening, Scranton will hold a conversation titled "Who Controls the Narrative about Political Events" and conduct a question and answer session with the audience. Scranton is an award-winning filmmaker of The War Tapes (2006), which won the Best International Documentary Award at the 2007 Tribeca Film Festival and was shortlisted for the 2007 Academy Awards.

The screening is co-sponsored by the Schulze Interdisciplinary Speaker Series, and is free.
