Event Description Lorilee Sandmann of the University of Georgia will discuss "Cracks in the Ivory Tower: Why Engagement is the Key to Higher Education's Future" in this next Schulze Speaker series.
In a nation with shifting social and economic landscapes, universities are required to rethink their role and place in society and especially within the communities where they are located. For many universities like UNC who are facing uncertainty in a volatile economic climate, community-engaged scholarship can serve as a strategic priority that facilitates the development of a compelling brand, academic enterprise, and enhanced presence in the community. Dr. Sandmann will continue to explore this idea even further.
Dr. Sandmann is professor and program chair in the Adult Education Program, Department of Lifelong Education, Administration, & Policy, in the College of Education at The University of Georgia. |
