Exempt Employee Open Forum with Marshall Parks: Taking University Courses

Event Description
PASC invites professional administrative (exempt) employees to get their questions answered regarding UNC's employee tuition waiver.

What institutions does the employee tuition waiver apply to? What are the restrictions/guidelines/options around doing so? Why are employees limited, but dependents and spouses are unlimited in the number of credits they can take per semester? Do we have to enroll through admissions to take any course, even if it's more for pleasure? Is the waiver only for degree-earning credits, or can they apply towards items such as a photography course, etc? What are the rules around taking courses during work time? Is time allotted for things that would benefit your position? Does that time need to be made up? Is it considered professional development time off?
