Internal Awards Procedures Training

Event Description:
New procedures and Insight reports are available to assist with tracking and managing expenses for Internal Awards made to faculty and staff. Internal awards include the New Project Program (NPP) from the Faculty Research and Publications Board (FRPB), the Provost Awards for Research (RDFD) and Travel (PAT), the Summer Support Initiative (SSI), and the Annual Scholarly Activity Travel Support (ASATS) awards.

The Office of Sponsored Programs and the Assistant Vice President for Research encourage all business managers and administrative assistants to attend a training session to learn more about these programs, procedures, resources and reports.

During the session participants will learn:
  • Details about internal award programs and the proposal/award process
  • The importance of the award document, the approved spending period and award expiration dates
  • The use of Activity Codes, where funds reside, Approval Queues and fiscal procedures
  • Using Insight Reports to monitor award expenses and correcting problems
