Lunar New Year Celebration

Event Description:
The Annual Lunar New Year Celebration will ring in the Year of the Snake. There will be authentic Asian cuisine, traditional and modern Chinese music and dance performances by UNC students, as well as trivia contests and language lessons. The Lunar New Year is an integral part of Asian cultures, bringing together family and friends to celebrate the most important holiday of the Lunar Calendar.

Doors open at 5:00, and tickets are available at the UNC Ticket Office (970.351.4849). Tickets are $5 for UNC students; $15 for UNC faculty and staff, General Admission, and children under 5 are free (but will still need a ticket). Everyone is invited to the Children's Carnival where guest may participate in numerous interactive activities, including calligraphy, paper cutting, origami, and traditional dancing. The Children's Carnival is free.

This event is hosted by the following UNC student organizations: Chinese Culture Club, Japanese Language Club, Japanese Culture and Anime Club, and sponsored by A/Pacific American Student Services, University Center, and Enrollment Management and Student Access.
