World Language Day

End Date: 4/17/2013End Time: 3:30 PM

Event Description:
The University of Northern Colorado World Language Day sponsored by the Departments of Modern Languages and Hispanic Studies is a day-long language and cultural immersion event. Students from high schools throughout the state of Colorado and southern Wyoming participate in language competitions, workshops, and diverse culturally rich activities. This event highlights the importance of language study, cultural awareness and diversity in our region. In addition, the event maintains a university faculty and public school faculty connection, and introduces UNC teacher candidates to many regional foreign language teachers and public school administrators. As well, it supports high school teachers in the field by establishing and permitting connections with the teacher candidates. Most importantly, World Language Day at UNC provides a unique opportunity for regional high school students and their teachers to experience language and culture beyond the traditional classroom setting.
