Event Description:
Presented in partnership with UNC Disability Services.

Nominated for a 2013 Golden Globe for Best Foreign Language Film, plus numerous other nominations and wins, The Intouchables is an irreverent and upbeat comedy and a runaway hit in Europe. It tells the story of aristocrat Philippe (Francois Cluzet) who becomes a quadriplegic after a paragliding accident. As he is interviewing candidates to be his caretaker, Driss (Omar Sy), a hip young man from the projects, cuts in line just to get a signature to prove he is seeking employment in order to get his unemployment benefits. Philippe challenges Driss, offering him a trial period of one month to gain experience helping him. Then Driss can decide whether he would like to stay with him or not. Driss accepts the challenge and moves to the mansion, changing the boring life of Philippe and his employees.

The Intouchables is uplifting and done with "remarkably sensitive direction" (IMDB). Based on a true story.
